Đakovo region, an area in Slavonia near Đakovo. It extends between the slopes of Dilj and Krndija in the west and the Slavonian lowlands in the east. Its central part is covered with fertile black soil, the Đakovo alluvial plain (100 to 150 m in absolute height). The northern border of Đakovo region is the Vuka River, and the southern border is the Bosut River with its tributaries. Extensive forests cover about 1/3 of the territory. The City of Đakovo includes 9 settlements: Budrovci, Đakovo, Đurđanci, Ivanovci Đakovački, Kuševac, Novi Perkovci, Piškorevci, Selci Đakovački and Široko Polje.

The City of Đakovo is located in the heart of the historical province of Slavonia in the east of the Republic of Croatia. The Đakovo Cathedral of St. Peter in the neo-Romanesque style is the cathedral church of the Đakovo-Osijek Archdiocese. Đakovo is a city of bishops, writers and painters, but also of great events (Đakovo Embroidery and New Year's Eve Nights). Đakovo Embroidery is today a well-known and established manifestation of original folk folklore. Another attraction of Đakovo is the Đakovo Stud Farm - a stud farm for noble Lipizzaner horses, one of the oldest in Europe, which has spread the word about Đakovo far beyond the borders of Croatia.
