The Lovinac-Posedarje topographic map covers the Lika Plain and Novigrad Sea. Topographic maps are often used by hunters, hikers, skiers, and others seeking outdoor recreation. They are also essential tools in the trade for geologists, surveyors, engineers, construction workers, landscape planners, architects, biologists, and many other professions. We also draw topographic maps, which are reference maps and show the shape of the Earth's surface. They usually do this with lines of equal height known as "contour lines," but elevation can also be shown using colors (another map), color gradients, shaded relief, and numerous other methods.
In the very south of Lika, in the far southeastern part of mountainous Croatia, in the Gospić – Udbina – Gračac triangle, is the municipality of Lovinac. The area traditionally called the Lovinac region largely coincides with the extent of today's Lovinac municipality. It is naturally bordered by the spurs of the Lika Central Highlands to the northeast and southeast with the Resnik mountain range. The Velebit mountain range forms a distinct geographical border towards the sub-Mediterranean area to the southwest. The municipality's favorable and important geographical position stems from its location on the edge of the Lika Bay, which is naturally connected to the Gračački polje. The shortest trade routes from the interior of Lika to the sea once passed through Lovinac. A new highway recently built next to the village has resulted in an increase in tourism.

The Novigrad Sea, a deeply indented sea bay in northern Dalmatia; It covers 28.6 km². It is connected to the Velebit Channel by the Novsko Ždrilo, and to the Karin Sea by the Karinsko Ždrilo. The coastline of the Novigrad Sea is about 30 km long. The larger settlements on the coast are Novigrad, Maslenica and Posedarje.
Let us tenderly and kindly cherish, therefore, the means of knowledge. Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write.
Entire ignorance is not so terrible or extreme an evil, and is far from being the greatest of all; too much cleverness and too much learning, accompanied with ill bringing-up, are far more fatal.
