The island of Krk is located in the Kvarner Bay, between the Istrian peninsula in the west and the Croatian Littoral in the east. It is one of the largest islands in the Adriatic and the northernmost island in the Mediterranean. It is surrounded by the Vinodol Channel to the east, the Rijeka Bay to the northwest and the Kvarner to the southwest. It is triangular in shape, or more precisely, an irregular quadrangle. It extends almost parallel to the mainland (divided by the Velebit Channel and Mala Vrata). To the west and southwest are the islands of Plavnik and Cres, and to the south are the islands of Prvić, Sveti Grgur, Goli and Rab. It is connected to the mainland (by a bridge) via the small coastal islet of Sveti Marko in Mali Vrata (600 m). The highest peak is Obzova (568 m). In the middle of the island are two lakes: Lake near Njivice and Ponikve between Malinska and Krk.
Picturesque beaches and bays, diverse nature and rich cultural heritage make this island special. The island of Krk is a popular destination throughout the year. About 1 km east of Omišalj on the island is the "Rijeka" Airport, a civil aviation airport. It is about 17 km as the crow flies from the center of Rijeka, for whose needs it was built, or about 25 km by road.
The fact that I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower, share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another's, smile at someone and receive a smile in return, are to me continual spiritual exercises.
