Split-Dalmatia County is an administrative-territorial unit in Central Dalmatia with its headquarters in Split. Split-Dalmatia County is the largest county in Croatia by area. The county is connected to the rest of Croatia by the recently built four-lane Split-Zadar-Karlovac-Zagreb highway, as well as the Lika railway. The Split-Kaštela international airport is used mainly for tourist flights in the summer, and there is also a smaller international airport on the island of Brač, as well as airfields in Sinj and on the island of Hvar. The most important economic activity is tourism. Manufacturing and agriculture are in decline.
