Elektroprivreda Lika map ordered as a thematic map.
Croatia has four large hydroelectric power plants in two main areas of the country -- the area near the Slovenian-Hungarian border and the area along the Adriatic coast. The Varaždin hydroelectric power plant is located near the Slovenian-Hungarian border, and three hydroelectric power plants along the Adriatic coast are Senj, Obrova, and Zakučac. All of them are owned and operated by the national electricity company, Hrvatska Elektroprivreda (HEP). The electricity distribution network has three different voltages; 903 kilometers of 400-kV lines, 1,224 kilometers of 220-kV lines, and 4,760 kilometers of 110-kV lines. There are also five 400-kilovolt (kV) substations, fifteen 220/110 kV substations, and 140 110 kV substations.
2020. In 2018, Hrvatska Elektroprivreda started work on the Kosinj hydroelectric power plant and the Senj 2 hydroelectric power plant, with a total capacity of 412 MW. The estimated investment is 450 million euros. The two megaprojects should provide green electricity, mainly peak demand energy, but also prevent floods caused by the Lika and Gacka rivers, supply water to cities from Senj to Karlobag and the islands of Rab and Pag, and improve irrigation in Lipovo Polje. After the completion of the two projects in six years, Croatia will have a hydropower system with a capacity of 650 MW, which is more than the largest Croatian hydroelectric power plant – HE Zakučac. The new facilities will produce 132 GWh of electricity annually, most of which will be peak electricity.
Compassion is sometimes the fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.
What the mind can conceive and believe, and the heart desire, you can achieve.
